Kotipathi Kapruka is one of these games, and it probably comes with one of the most impressive guaranteed jackpots in Sri Lanka.
First introduced on the market in 2016, the game was initially called Kotipathi Shanida. To date, it has produced eight jackpot winners, and it has handed out more than 751 million rupees in prize money.
Kotipathi Kapruka is a two-stage game, much like most of the other DLB and NLB lotteries. While the odds aren’t in your favor, there’s a chance of winning. If you do, you will come in possession of an incredibly high sum that will change your life forever.

How to Play Kotipathi Kapruka
Kotipathi Kapruka is a two-stage game. For a chance to win the jackpot, you will have to choose four numbers in the range from one to 80 and one letter from the English alphabet.
The lottery’s drawings take place three times per week – on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. Just like all other DLB lotteries, Kotipathi Kapruka comes with color-coded tickets. Pink tickets are issued for the Tuesday drawing, green tickets for the Friday drawing and yellow tickets are issued each Sunday.

To buy your Kotipathi Kapruka ticket, you’ll have to visit one of the authorized DLB retail venues. These are located throughout Sri Lanka, and they’re branded for easy recognition. When you come to the venue, you will have to decide if you’re going to play your numbers or whether you’re going to choose the quick pick option. If you go for the second, a random combination of digits and a letter will be generated for you by the lottery software.
There are no restrictions as to the nationality of people who can play lotteries in Sri Lanka. If you’re in the country legally, you can get lottery tickets, and you can claim prizes in the event of winning.
The only way to buy a ticket, however, is to visit one of the authorized DLB agencies.
Sri Lanka does not offer online ticket buying options. There’s no official platform or app that you can utilize to play the NLB and DLB games of luck remotely. Hence, if you’re not in Sri Lanka, there’s no way to play Kotipathi Kapruka.
Online lotto agencies do not carry Sri Lankan ticket buying at the time being. You may want to check back with your favorite service provider occasionally to find out whether new international options have become available.
Kotipathi Kapruka Prizes and Payouts
While the odds of winning a Kotipathi Kapruka prize are astronomical, the sums that winners can claim make the game worth giving a try to.
Kotipathi Kapruka comes with a minimum guaranteed jackpot of 75 million rupees. At the time of article writing, the sum has reached 82.1 million rupees. This is possible since, in the absence of a winner, the amount of the respective drawing rolls over to the next one.
Recently, a similar massive jackpot fell and turned one Sri Lankan into a millionaire. On February 8, 2020, a lucky W.A.Gunathilaka from Anuradhapura received his check for 86.57 million rupees. The agency that sold the winning ticket also got lucky and received a commission for the lucky ticket.
The biggest jackpot in the history of the game fell in October 2019. At the time, the jackpot had reached 145 million rupees.
Apart from the jackpot, Kotipathi Kapruka also has eight additional prize tiers. The second biggest award is handed to those who match the four main numbers for the drawing. Such players will be entitled to a payout of one million rupees. The third prize belongs to those who match three numbers and the English letter. In that case, the payout will be 100,000 rupees.
DLB does not provide specific information about the prize claim procedure and the amount of time that winners have to come forward. Thus, it’s a good idea to initiate the prize claim as soon as possible.
Smaller amounts are usually paid out at the DLB retail agencies throughout Sri Lanka. The payout is immediate once the validity of the winning ticket gets verified. Winners of more considerable sums may want to use the DLB telephone hotline to get in touch with the customer support center and learn a bit more about how to get the payout.
